Antioch: Volunteers Cleanup Lone Tree Elementary School Trashed After Fireworks Show

by ECT

On July 5,  a resident passing Lone Tree Elementary School in Antioch noticed a big mess in the parking lot of the school and went to investigate what it was and observed a large mess from the Fourth of July where people left their garbage and failed to clean up. He vowed to clean it up. We went live on Facebook, one volunteer showed up, another, then another, and by the end it was roughly twenty people cleaning up the mess in the parking lot in under 2-hours.

Be the change you want your community to be. One person can truly make a difference. Thanks Mark Wilson Jr for demonstrating that today.

Where the hell was APD?

Jamie Jul 5, 2020 - 5:20 pm

They are too afraid to mess with our rights!!! We have the right to set off fireworks you sheep

Exactly! This wasn’t a 5 minute event and then those responsible left, this was an event going on most of the night. This school is a public building and any police officer passing by should have been aware of the crowds/cars/explosions present there.

I heard a lot of people were taking photos of these idiots. Gave the information to the police. Let’s see what happens.

Prices? Yes we spent our hard earned government stimulus money on this. The democratic government we have made us do this. They plague us with a fake COVID-19 and take away our freedoms. All of you are sheep Trump 2020

At least we know where the past due rent money went…oh I’m sure the group who did it will be there tomorrow to pick up their kids free lunch.

Out of all places… really an elementary school!

To quote on of my teacher colleagues at Deer Valley- ” This is why we can’t have nice things.”

It’s no better in my city-Oakland. All along 14th Avenue from 580 to 880 in the medium were empty fireworks boxes, spent fireworks, and beer bottles. Why are people filthy pigs?

Theresa Adams Jul 5, 2020 - 11:19 pm

That was such a nice thing to do for the area. Such a shame that people would enjoy the fireworks and then leave such a mess. Guess it happens all the time. Look at the mess after the “save the planet” protests. The streets were covered with empty bottles, coffee cups and trash. Thanks for keeping your neighborhoods clean. Wish more people cared.

It was ” such a nice thing for the neighborhood”??? You’re not serious. These people had what appears to be professional quality fireworks and set them off in a neighborhood! Risking fires that the overworked fire department would never be able to control. This behavior is plain moronic. And you shouldn’t be condoning it! Not only are they cretins, they are pigs.

What Theresa said was right! I guess you didn’t read it right. She meant the volunteers coming together to clean up that mess! “That was such a nice thing to do for the area”.
Way to go Antioch!

Pig are too intelligent to do something so vile. Please apologize to pigs! The people who did that are plain GARBAGE!

Go M.J.! You’re awesome!

Thank you for cleaning up the mess left by inconsiderate individuals.
Antioch’s Motto, “OPPORTUNITY LIVE HERE,” maybe, needs to have a change in Motto.
How about this, “DUMP IN ANTIOCH, POLITICIANS ARE WEARING HORSE BLINDERS.”
It is only going to get PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, FOLKS.!!

The Police and/or Fire Dept. should have got this one. At the least gotten names and I D. to have them clean up. I guess all the looting, burning, and blaming of police not backed up by their Chiefs put them in passive mode. I don’t blame them. It’s a ripe time for crime. Can’t wait to get law and order back.

We had a fantastic fireworks show here in a town not in California that when the show was over the park was spotless. Not just by the organizers of the show but also the people watching the show. I used to live in Brentwood but moved three years ago because of this kind of crap. We still have friends in Brentwood and Oakley, Antioch is coming to Brentwood. So sad!

Lol!!! I love how everyone ignored the fake troll “Jamie”

You tried ??

I love how they tried to pass off a white name and blame trump! ? when we alllll know who did this.

Nice try ! At least you gave me a good laugh this morn!

The APD were called numerous times to report what was happening at the Lone Tree Elementary! Why didn’t they come out and stop this? The noise was horrendous! Are we paying the police just to sit around and twiddle their thumbs? Fireworks of ANY kind are not permitted in Antioch and other cities. This is beyond outrageous!! If this happens next year, there will be some major violence against these scumbags!

Thank you for those who came to clean up! Thank you for caring for your community and your school.
