A vehicle accident shut down Sunset Drive at Diablo Ave after a pole was damaged and wires were down in the roadway just before 12:00 pm Thursday.
The accident was caused by an undisclosed medical condition which caused a truck to go off the roadway into a pole, while hitting multiple vehicles before taking out a fire hydrant.
The incident all caused downed wires which started a small vegetation fire and required Contra Costa County Fire and American Medical Response to respond along with Antioch Public Works.
The vegetation fire was small and fire crews had it out within 10-minutes, however, fire crews remained on scene for 90-minutes.
The driver was taken to a local hospital by AMR.
