Antioch: Suspicious Subject Puts Turner Elementary School on Lock Down

by ECT

On Friday, Turner Elementary School in Antioch was put on lock down due to a suspicious person. Antioch Police were called and and investigated the incident. The incident occurred around 11:00 am.

According to a parent, their teenage daughter was being harassed and followed by a man in a white vehicle in the area–they say the man also approached students at Turner Elementary School. The parent described the man as a Hispanic male with gray hair, approximately in his fifties with tattoos on his neck.

Here is a copy of the announcement made by Principal Meylan.

This is Mrs. Meylan, Principal of Turner Elementary School, calling with an important announcement. A short time ago, Turner School was placed on lockdown for a short time due to a report of a suspicious person in the neighborhood. Children and staff were kept inside during this time and all doors were locked. We received an all clear notice from the Antioch Police Dept. within a short time and the lockdown was lifted.

Your children were calm and remained safe at all times. I appreciated everyone’s cooperation during this time. As always, please do not hesitate to contact the school should you have any concerns or questions. Have a nice weekend.

The staff and all involved acted professional and kept the kids safe. High five to adults that care about kids. Finally something good to talk about. Way to teach with care.
