At 1:32 pm Wednesday, a pregnant female was injured after a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with her.

According to Robert Marshall, Contra Costa Fire Protection District spokesperson, a fire investigator who witnessed the collision intervened and drew his weapon until Antioch Police could arrive.

The incident happened at G St and W 14th St where two people were injured and taken away via ambulance. A third person was not injured and was detained by Antioch Police—he was the passenger in the responsible vehicle.

“The fire investigator was in the area investigating an arson call from a few days ago and making contact with a potential witness. It was then when the investigator was passed by a car going at a high rate of speed and he witnessed the crash,” explained Marshall.

Marshall explained when the accident occurred, he immediately responded to render aid.

Citation and released?? with a promise to appear in Court …. I am sure he will appear since he tried to run by foot after an injury and having to be held by gun point until officers arrived. Not to mention wouldn’t speeding and passing illegally in the middle of town be reckless driving and endangerment???
