On Monday at approximately 4:16 pm, officers of the Antioch Police Department made contact with a group of subjects in the 1600 block of Sycamore Dr. in Antioch. One of the subjects was armed with a handgun and fled from police. While attempting to detain the suspect, one of the officers shot the suspect. The suspect was transported to the hospital with what appears to be a non-life threatening wound.
The officer involved is a veteran officer of the Antioch Police Department and was not injured.

5 more hoodlums off the street. So thankful no one from the police department was hurt or injured. It brings me joy to see Sycamore is getting the attention it needs. Wish the people who lived there would think more highly of themselves and stop tolerating bad behavior and instead work to fix it.

Well “Take a Stand” I can think of a few things that they could do like go to college, go help Antiochs youth at an after school program, or maybe just maybe get a job. Is that far enough out of the box?
I agree with you take a stand but the city to soo broke from settling out of court on all their police misconduct lawsuits there is no money to help the youth further more they don’t care about the youth. Where I grew up we had recreation centers, rec leaders. Went on trips for small fees, played sports, games, and hung out. There is nothing like that in antioch for teens.

but the Antioch Police Department rides by the guys that hang out there all day everyday coming from somebody who lives in the area
work everyday and my children go to school I’ve tried calling to police it takes them 45 minutes to 2 hours to come out when something’s going on is there is a fight or shooting so you sound stupid saying that the residents in this area don’t try to stop it because.I am one of them and I call the police a lot and most of the time they don’t show up !!!
