Antioch Police Recover Stolen Vehicle After Short Pursuit

At 2:40 pm Monday, Antioch Police spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen around 10:00 am. An officer spotted the vehicle on W. 18th and D Street.

IMG_5346According to radio traffic, around 2:44 pm, Antioch Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt with long hair and a beanie cap.

As police moved into position, the subject failed to yield to officers who then proceeded into a short pursuit before the suspect crashed into a vehicle on G Street and W 18th in front of Antioch High School.

Police quickly took the suspect to the ground and took him into custody without incident. They also stated the collision was at low speed.

American Medical Response was requested as a precaution for a passenger who was hit during the collision.

According to an officer on scene, the vehicle was spotted coming out of the library on W. 18th when backup was requested. No further details were provided.
