Antioch Police Officer Sustains Minor Injuries After Being Struck by Vehicle

At 9:32 pm Monday, a vehicle crash involving an Antioch Police Officer occurred at Hillcrest and Wildflower in the City of Antioch.

According to police, Officer Lundin was responding Code 3 (lights and sirens) to an emergency when she approached the intersection of Hillcrest Ave and WildFlower Dr. As she slowly crept into the intersection, making sure it was clear for her to safely proceed, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed T-boned her patrol vehicle on the passenger side.

AntiochA total of two AMR units were requested to the scene.

Officer Lundin was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries and is in good spirits.

According to Antioch Police spokesperson Daryl Saffold, the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Witnesses stated Officer Lundin was slowly and methodically clearing the intersection when the other driver was speeding was not able to stop or avoid the collision.

Lundin was responding to a house that was caught on fire due to fireworks added Saffold.

No alcohol or drugs were involved.
