Updated: Antioch Police Investigating Jewelry Store Robbery

Just before 11:30 am Wednesday, a jewelry store inside the Somersville Towne Center Mall was robbed.

Initial reports indicate suspects entered Ron Jewelers with a weapon and stole more than $50k in jewellery before fleeing the scene. Pepper spray was also discharged during the incident. No gunshots were fired.

Although the jewelry store remains closed due to the investigation, the rest of the mall is open and operating.

Update

According to the Antioch Police Department, four male suspects entered Ron’s Jewelry Store located inside the mall and smashed the glass cases with metal tools. The suspects were able to flee the store on foot with stolen jewelry and left the mall in a silver Infiniti sedan. The value of the jewelry taken has yet to be determined.

The four suspects were dressed in similar clothing. During the robbery, an employee was pepper sprayed and was later transported to an area hospital for treatment.
