On February 3rd, 2020 members of the Antioch Police Department brought this cold case to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office to be reviewed. The case was filed, and arrest warrants were issued for the two remaining suspects in this murder.

On February 3rd and 4th, two additional arrests were made for the 2005 shooting homicide of Edgar Martinez. George Siever (35) was taken into custody followed by today’s arrest of Brian Gray (35). Both arrests took place in the City of Antioch without incident.

The Antioch Police Department routinely reviews cold cases in an effort to find justice for the victims of senseless and violent crimes. It is by no mistake that complex cases such as these come to a successful resolution because of an incredible amount of teamwork, professional collaboration, and community outreach.

The Antioch Police Department wishes to recognize the important involvement and participation of the community, and the support from the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office.

Information Released on January 30

On March 27, 2005, at around 11:37 PM, 17-Year-Old Edgar Martinez was sleeping in bed in the 300 block of W 20th Street when two subjects fired multiple rounds into Martinez’s apartment.

Martinez was struck in the chest and died on scene from his injuries. The murder was the result of an argument in the 300 block of W 20th Street between 39-Year-Old Candice Carter and a group of men she believed to be rival gang members.

After the argument Carter and two other men returned to area and fired the fatal shots into Martinez’s apartment. It was determined that Martinez played no part in the initial argument with Carter.

On January 30th, 2020, at about 4:00 PM, the Antioch Police Department and Pittsburg Police Department served a high-risk arrest warrant in the City of Pittsburg and took Carter into custody for this murder.

The Antioch Police Department credits advancements in technology and help from the community in solving this 15-Year-Old Murder. The Antioch Police Department expects to make more arrests related to this case in the near future.

Yikes!!! No lifeguard in this gene pool!! Hopefully they spend enough time in prison that they cant ever reproduce. The long haired dude in the middle looks especially ruff!!

They probably all have kids already. Most trashy people believe in “God” so they’re pro life and think their lives are worth reproducing. That’s why they have liters of kids. That’s why as a society we should advocate for safe sex and the right to abortion. There’s already over 40,000 children in the foster system in California, yet the dumb pro-lifers don’t want to help. Just protest like losers and cherry pick from their fairy tale book AKA the bible.

That is sarcasm right?

The long haired dude in the middle is female, which makes it even more scary! My guess is that (unfortunately) they have already reproduced.

I wish the public would take into consideration what the full story may be. This happened 15 years ago!! Do you have any clue how much changes in 15 years? Yes, Justice is due for the loss of a life and there’s no arguing that but I know 1 of the 3 people included in this, is nothing like the picture that had been painted. 15 years ago, possibly, but sure as hell not today.

One of these men shouldn’t be in this predicament. He has been in recovery for several years, he is in the union, he has a beautiful family and young children. He is loved by his community and would give the shirt off his back for someone in need.

The media tells nothing of who these people are Today and it’s leaving the families and loved ones shattered reading these comments. He is a grown man today and not running the streets like the thug everyone is making him out to be. The public is making up their minds in who these people are without any true insight to who they are today and it makes me sick. Imagine if this was your child in this situation and they are in jail for something that happened 15 years ago. You would be devastated. Please think about that before typing out hurtful comments that serve no good to anyone reading it.

Justice is due, I also know one of these people, they obviously made a very bad decision and will pay for it now, but like the other comment they also have families that are heart broken over their stupid choices, people do change even though it’s a on the late side
