Antioch PD Calls Bomb Threats to High Schools a Hoax

The Antioch Police Department issued a Press Release this afternoon (April 24) calling the bomb threats to Antioch High School and Deer Valley High School “hoaxes”.

Since these are determined hoaxes, the person caught could potentially be charged with a misdemeanor and could serve up to a year in jail for each offense. Of course, restitution for incurred cost may be a better punishment.

INCIDENT:  False Bomb Threats

DATE OF INCIDENT: 4/24/13

TIME OF INCIDENT: 9:41 AM, 10:35 AM and 1:06 PM

LOCATION:  Antioch High School and Deer Valley High School

On 4/24/13 at approximately 9:41 AM, Antioch High School received a bomb threat.  The school was evacuated and searched, and nothing was located.  Two more bomb threats were called in concerning Deer Valley High School at approximately 10:35 AM and 1:06 PM.   The same measures were taken and nothing was located.  Two similar threats were called in to Deer Valley High School on 4/22/13 and 4/23/13, and both of those were determined to be hoaxes, as well.  The Antioch Police Department is currently investigating each of these false bomb threats.
