Antioch: Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on E 18th, Driver Flees the Scene

At 10:30 pm Thursday, the Antioch Police Department and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle crash on E. 18th Street and Phillips Lane in the City of Antioch.

Upon arrival, AMR located a motorcyclist down on the ground suffering from major injuries. The rider was then ground transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle he collided with fled the scene after parking their vehicle in the AmeriGas parking lot.

According to Police, preliminary information was the motorcycle was traveling westbound E 18th when a vehicle pulled into a driveway in front of the motorcycle causing the collision. The driver of the vehicle, registered out of Bethel Island, fled the scene.

Antioch Police also made attempts to locate the driver, and possibly a passenger, however, they were unable to locate.

The condition of the motorcyclist is unknown Friday morning and no further information was released.
