A man was shot in the hip Monday night around 9:35pm on Deodar Ave in an apparent drive-by-shooting.
According to radio traffic, Antioch Police received 3-calls saying they heard guns following by screeching tires fleeing the scene. Witnesses say the vehicle was a black pickup truck—possibly an avalanche with plastic trim. The driver was described as a Hispanic male who fired as many as five shots.
Police arrived on scene to find the victim alert and talking. AMR transported the patient to a local hospital.
Antioch Police Lt. John VanderKlugt stated the injuries were not considered life threatening and he is expected to survive. He also stated they had limited information and were still investigating the case.
