Antioch: Man Airlifted After Vehicle Overturns Down Embankment

At around 7:00 am Tuesday, a vehicle traveling eastbound on Laurel Road on the Highway 4 overpass went off the roadway and down an embankment.

The crash occurred on the City of Antioch and City of Oakley border where a man went through a fence and made a 10-ft drop before overturning down the embankment and coming to a rest.

According to witnesses, the man was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Oakley Police officers arrived on scene and found the man to be alert and talking, however, he was trapped in his vehicle. Firefighters arrived on scene a short time later and freed the man where he was taken to a medical helicopter and airlifted to a local hospital.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Antioch Police Department.

  1. It boggles the mind how people drive at very high speeds in that area! If you can, avoid the Laurel Road vicinity as much as possible.

    • Exactly Elizabeth, Laurel is a race track, especially between Empire and Hwy 4. People are crazy the way the drive. Me first, me first. Idiots!!! Laurel is the most dangerous street in Oakley and needs way more enforcement.

  2. If you saw where he went off you would not think speeding more like texting. Cause if he was speeding he would have hit the tracks
