Antioch: Home Invasion Robbery Attempt Leads to Discovery of Grow House

by ECT

On January 19 at approximately 6:55 pm Officers responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Banbury Way on the report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival they contacted the resident, Loc Ly, 41 of Antioch, who advised that he had just been the victim of a home invasion robbery.

Officers further learned that the 4-5 black male adult suspects were interested in stealing the marijuana plants growing within the residence.

Officers received consent to enter the residence and discovered 492 marijuana plants growing inside. As no evidence could be located to suggest the plants were possessed for medicinal purposes, Loc Ly was taken into custody on cultivation charges and the plants were collected as evidence.

This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact the Antioch Police Dept. at (925)778-2441. If you have information regarding this case you may text a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) using the key word ANTIOCH.

He will have his Medicinal paperwork when court comes up. There are more home invasion robberies and murders based on marijuana that any other drug. If you have it them young thug or smokey is going to take it from you.

If penicillin, Advil, and Motrin were illegal substances and only underground producers had the balls enough to produce it and supply it to the masses, there would still be others trying to break and steal it all as well. The reality of robberies does not in anyway mean cannabis is some immoral thing like so many of our ECT conservative pundits want us all to believe.

BTW, alcohol and coffee were also illegal substances at one time and had criminal syndicates connected to them. Wake up and smell the hypocrisy.

Think for yourself, and question authority.

Tim, this is the wrong blog to throw around your Medicinal marijuana agenda. Save that for your hippie berkeleyish type blogs. This is about crime and violence that surrounds the cultivation or sales of marijuana. These assholes bring this into our neighbothoods. It is a dangerous business. Even if it were legal, you would still have the violence surrounding it. It is a for profit business that hides behind the disguise of medicine. I’m not against medicinal marijuana, I’m against people using residential neighborhoods to furter their drug dealing empire.

Very well said.

Hey maybe you and RJB can go hypocritically throw back a six pack, swerve around town and end the night out with some congratulatory back slapping.

Next we should have prohibition on big screen tv’s, cell phones, jewelry stores, and I’d even like to see our women in burkas. All these material objects cause envy in our neighbors hearts and lead to violence like this. Freedom doesn’t work, we need more prohibition like we did on alcohol, more laws, more God, and more fear!

What’s funny is that we already have neighboring cities like Oakland and SF (and neighboring states) that have utilized the legalization/regulation approach to growing cannabis and have benefited. This information is freely available.

Antioch on the other hand, as well as Brentwood, have instead chosen to keep going with these outdated Nixon-type approaches to cannabis which is exactly why we have invasions, robberies, etc. without legalization and regulation, growers choose to have huge quantities of crops opposed to small regulated amounts. The only way to curb grow houses that have WAY too many plants is to finally legalize and regulate it like so many other cities and states have! Wake up Antioch, it’s time to move on from the Nixons and Reagans lurking in our city council.

What’s the goal of all this anyway? Total eradication? If the current American police state ever succeeds in its total domination of daily affairs, the only freedoms we will have is sitting in front of the tube with a bottle of Jack and some prescription pills.
Watch out Antioch, you’re a microcosm of the rest of the country. This isn’t a war on drugs, it’s a war on personal freedom. Robberies and thefts are what we classically call “red herrings.”

This is not the only home invasion that occurred in Antioch this week. Shots fire and a vehicle crashed through a homes garage door about 5 days ago now, all over an illegal Marijuana

Ignorance is Bliss pot heads! This type of violence is directly associated with Marijuna, regardless of regulation or not. This type of violence is why we don’t want illegal grows or labs in our community. This type of violence directly effects anyone in the medical marijuana community.

Nice comparison….Oakland and SF have huge problems, with filthy streets and violence.

Antioch Police have not issued a release for that incident. Although we have asked them, they had said more info was coming but have not heard anything. They did confirm shots were fired and have casings. A garage door was also damaged after a vehicle drove through it.

Here is the deal,
When looking in comparison from alcohol vs marijuana I feel that there has been less death related issues leaning on the side of cannabis. I agree with the perception that there is crime attached, there will be wtih anything that is illegal that will bump the value up, because of limited supply and it is harder to obtain. If it was readily available, the street value would drop like a rock, in turn dropping the crime because people wouldn’t really care about it anymore, it would devalue the product. They would move onto something with more $ value like cocaine or meth. Its not that serious, there is far more worse things out there. Control it with the law, limit it with age limitations and treat it like alcohol. Tax it because it will help bring money to cities and can pay for more police officers, Antioch needs that.Regardless of what anyone thinks about it, people will still be people and do what they want. Why not try to take this and make a benefit with it.

If it becomes legal we won’t have to steal because we can grow our own shit

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Jan 22, 2016 - 6:35 pm

Rob, if I read correctly you refer to yourself as somebody who goes out and steals peoples plants. You must be smoking too much weed. I have seen a 15 year old boy dead on a hospital gurney because his older brother took him on a weed rip. Older brothers bad, the homeowner took the gun away and killed his little brother. Good luck on your future dope rips and for your mamas sake don’t take your little brother.

Your hegemonic brainwashing is so apparent in all these posts I’m surprised anyone is even taking you serious enough to offer responses “where did Antioch go wrong?” You offer no statistics, no credible links, no logical path to your point, and you season it all with personal attacks. Do us all a favor and learn to read, learn to think for yourself, and for god’s sake question for once the cultural programming you’ve inherited from the dominator class of society. So far you’ve only blown smoke up the asses of the Trumps and Nixons of the world. We aren’t impressed.

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Jan 23, 2016 - 11:04 am

How you get brainwashing out of my post is ridiculous. Your screen name says it all. You buzz around shit all day, just to criticize people who don’t take your pot head stance. You should stop bouncing around using different screen names and use just one. It’s not hard to find the information these days. Try this on for size. http://www.sfgate.com/crime/article/1-dead-2-hurt-in-Antioch-home-invasion-3185674.php.

No personal attacks. Just telling Rob he should not post his criminal business online

Go smoke all the weed you want. My point here is that the crime surrounding the use, sales and cultivation of marijuana is violent.
