Antioch Home Catches Fire for Second Time in a Month

The Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a fully engulfed residential fire at B Street and 9th Street in Antioch Wednesday for the second fire in less than a month.

On Wednesday, the fire had flames shooting out the roof and the front of the house before fire crews arrived on scene around 4:10 pm. Crews were on scene for nearly 3-hours.

The cause of the fire is not yet known according to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and it may even be accidental. Fire investigators also looking into the home having potential hazards.

After a March 30 fire, the home has been vacant and boarded up–it’s unclear if homeless or squatters were the cause of the fire. (click here to see photos from March 1 fire)
