Antioch: Hillside Fire Shuts Down Southbound SR-160 near KMART

by ECT

A vegetation fire broke out just after 1:00 pm Tuesday that shut down southbound lanes of I-160 near the Wilbur exit in the City of Antioch.

The fire was located directly behind KMART and CHP was requested for traffic control.

Contra Costa County Fire arrived on scene to a 1/4 acre fire that was burning brush and trees, however, the spread of fire was limited due to roads and a concrete wall. The fire required just 3-units.

By 1:25, the fire was under control and one lane of southbound traffic was re-opened.

Headline should location should be SR-160 or CA-160, as this is a California State Route, not an interstate.
