The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District quickly responded to a residential house fire on E. 18 Street near D Street Saturday afternoon and limited damage to the kitchen area. The incident began at 2:16 pm where crews were on scene for roughly 45-minutes and a majority of the work appeared to be clean up. The home was boarded up prior to the incident, which likely means it was started by squatters or someone fooling around inside the home.
Here is a few pictures of the firefighters on scene after the fire was put out and ready to head back to their respective stations. Q83, Engine 81, Engine 82, Engine 85 and BC8 all responded.
