Antioch: Firefighters Make Quick Work of Half-Acre Vegetation Fire

At 4:37 am Wednesday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire reported by a CHP officer.

The fire was reported at Hillcrest and Slatten Ranch Road behind the PG&E facility which firefighters had to make access through a fence inside PG&E.

According to CONFIRE, this was believed to be a homeless encampment fire that spread to a half-acre before crews were able to put out the fire without incident by 5:10 am.

Crews were committed for mop up and a fire investigator was responding to the scene.
