At 3:33 am Friday, Contra Costa County Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire at the homeless encampment at Wilbur and Fulton Shipyard in the City of Antioch.

Engine 81 arrived on scene to locate trees, brush and grass on fire with an estimated 100×100 yard fire. They requested the next closest unit and believed they could handle.

By 3:45 am, they were still battling the fire.

This is the FOURTH fire attributed to these “homeless” people this year! This includes the setting of a fire which pretty much destroyed a florist shop on A Street! How long will people be putting up with this insanity?

Didn’t they have quite a few fires materialize in that same location this year alone? Those residents in the structures around there must be nervous wrecks.

Let’s hope we have a really great downpour from that mega storm coming in from Mexico. That should help cut down on the fires.
