At 8:21 pm Saturday, the Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a garage fire in the 1500 block of Lipton Street in the City of Antioch.
It was reported that a garage caught fire with smoke and flames observed with residents evacuating. Upon arrival, firefighters located the flames which began making its way into the attic with smoke coming from all sides of the home.
Firefighters began fire attack and had the fire knocked down in under 10-minutes with heavy overhaul being required. The fire district confirmed the fire started in the garage, however, the cause was still under investigation.
They added that most of the fire damage occurred in the garage with smoke damage inside the home.
By 9:41 pm, CONFIRE requested the Red Cross for two adults. No injuries were reported.
