At 9:38 pm Thursday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire behind homes in the area of the 1800 block of Venice Lane in the City of Antioch.
By 9:45 pm, CONFIRE reported the fire at an estimated 1/2 acre with grass and vegetation with a flat slop with moderate spread. By 9:50 it had grown to 1-acre.
By 10:08 pm, it was reported that no structures were threatened.
A short time later, the fire was deemed contained and firefighters would remain on scene for an estimated 1-hour mop up.
