At roughly 7:58 am Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a one-alarm fire at a house on Bonita Way in Antioch where a woman suffered a dog bite and burns while a dog died.

According to George Laing, CONFIRE PIO, a woman and child were at the home when the fire was detected. The woman, a great grandmother of the child was able to safely get the child out of the house and returned into the home to locate their dog. The dog bit the woman and she was also burned before leaving the home a second time. Crews later located the dog which was deceased. Crews also have been unable to locate a cat.

The woman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries according to Laing.

The fire was contained by 8:20 am and caused an estimated $100,000 in damages to the home and $50,000 in contents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Joe if it’s a meth house you sure did spend a lot of time there, spending the night. The night you were left there wiith Emma asleep then she woke up screaming that some strange man was in her house knocking on neighbors door to get him out!!! You must have somewhere else to squat these days.
