ECCFPD: July 3 Vasco Road Auto Accident

There was a solo vehicle auto accident last night at Vasco Road and Walnut Boulevard at 19:35 (7:35 pm) which a 24-year old female was found in her vehicle at the bottom of a drainage canal.  The woman could not feel below her waist and was extricated using KED (Kendrick Extrication Device). She was transported via helicopter to John Muir Medical Center.

A total of seven firefighters were on scene (Engines 52, 59 and Battalion) along with AMR , Reach Air Ambulance, and the California Highway Patrol.

The map below highlights the location of the remaining fire stations with a circle around the incident location. The incident occurred just over 4-miles away from Station 52 in Brentwood while the backup engine came from Station 59 in Discovery Bay which was roughly 6.5 miles away. While this incident was ongoing, Station 93 in Oakley was left covering the entire District.
