A 34-year-old Antioch man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing Saturday night that happened at Chevron gas station at the 3200 block of Delta Fair Boulevard. The man taken into custody was classified at the time as a “person of interest”.
The incident occurred at 7:40 pm with a report of two men arguing outside the Chevron Food Mart. The attendant stated that the two then got into an altercation before one man was stabbed several times. The man was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to radio frequency, the man was stabbed in the arm and torso; however, it appears the fatal wound came from a stab to the middle of the chest.
The 49-year-old Antioch victim has not been identified to the public because police say it will compromise the investigation. Official charges are expected to be released later this week.
Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Detective Stenger with the Antioch Police Department at 925-779-6894.
Note: We cannot confirm the man in the photos taken Saturday night was the person arrested, but we can confirm he was taken into the station for questioning Saturday night.
