Antioch Neighborhood Cleanup Set for Saturday

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department announced it will host its next neighborhood cleanup event on Saturday, March 12.

This will be the 109th installment of the neighborhood cleanup program which is a collaborative community effort involves active participation from The Antioch Police Department Crime Prevention Commission; Neighborhood Watch Program; Volunteers in Police Service; community volunteers and the Public Works Department.

The event will begin at 9:00 am and will end at approximately 11:00 am where they will focus in the area of Kimball Elementary School (1310 August Way). The cleanup will include the neighborhood from Merrill Drive to the north, 16th Street to the south, Marie Avenue to the west and A Street to the West.

Per Antioch Police, the City of Antioch Neighborhood Cleanup program is not just for residential neighborhoods. It is a program that will change venues every month and it will include business and commercial areas as well. Neighborhoods that are free of trash and refuse are inviting, and a clean community instills a sense of community pride.

Volunteers will receive instructions and the equipment necessary to accomplish the goal. The targeted area is within walking distance. Excluding inclement weather, future Neighborhood Cleanup events are scheduled for the first Saturday of every month and the locations will be announced in advance.

Antioch Police say that cleaning up your neighborhood can make life better for your family, your neighbors, and your community!

This is a good idea. First place to start are the homeless dumps.
