Man Shot While Driving on Eastbound Highway 4 Tuesday Afternoon

Law enforcement is responding to a report of a subject who says he was shot twice on Highway 4 Tuesday afternoon in the area of Bay Point and the City of Pittsburg.

The call came in at approxmently 4:30 pm where a driver of a vehicle said he was shot at near San Marco and Highway 4 while he was driving in the eastbound direction.

A short-time later, the caller who was in a grey Honda arrived at eastbound Highway 4 and Railroad awaiting Pittsburg Police on scene. The subject said he was shot in both the arm and the leg.

By 4:51 pm, Pittsburg Police and CHP located the victim where they confirmed the shooting and stated the victim was shot in the leg.  The suspect vehicle was described as a newer red Honda last seen headed eastbound.

No other information was readily available.

Oh no! Not another freeway shooting! What in hell is going on? This seems to be a popular spot for getting shot. The Port Chicago, San Marcos, Railroad, Lone Tree Way offramps and then Hillcrest! Where is the CHP? They should be lined up along those routes 24/7! Where are the security cameras? It’s now safer to take surface streets.
