6-year-old Rescues Dog at Orwood Resort in Brentwood

Orwood Resort

Six-year-old Brianna of Knigthsen Elementary School was a hero today as she helped rescue a dog from the water at the Orwood Resort in Brentwood.

Brianna, who saw and heard something coming from in the water, believed it might just be an otter. Her curiosity got the better of her and ran towards it a short distance away. Quickly, she realized it was a dog who was struggling to stay afloat.

Brianna ran to the shoreline and grabbed the dog out of the water. She then found a blanket while wrapped it up to keep the dog warm.

“We picked it up it was shaking so hard, his teeth was chattering and it was freezing cold,” said Cathy Daniel. “It was just crying and crying, it was a poor little thing.”

Brianna and Cathy then went door to door seeing if anyone had lost the dog. Nobody said it was their dog so they we went to the restaurant. While asking around, they found the dog owner who was very thankful.  One owner explained that the dog jumped out of her vehicle and got into the water.

Kudos on a job well done Brianna!

Explain to me how Orwood is in Brentwood? They do list their address as being Brentwood, however, two maps I’ve found show the physical location of Orwood well outside the Brentwood Boundaries:

http://www.maptechnica.com/us-city-boundary-map/city/Brentwood/state/CA/cityid/608142

http://www.ci.brentwood.ca.us/pdf/new/comdev/economic/brentwood05.pdf

So why do they list it as Brentwood, when it is not inside the city limits of Brentwood?

Oh, and good job to the little girl, nice to see the pup made out OK. But, she saved the dog in unincorporated Contra Costa County by some maps… Brentwood apparently by others.

And doesn’t Knightson have an argument in this? Orwood seems closer to them than Brentwood, or even Disco Bay for that matter.
