Riverside Deputies Arrest Suspect in Vacaville Sexual Abuse Case

by ECT

Sherriff’s deputies in Riverside County have arrested a suspect in a sexual abuse case in Vacaville involving a 7-year-old girl.

On July 6 police met with the mother of the victim at the Vacaville Police Department Special Victims Unit (SVU) office. The mother told police that her daughter had recently been sexually abused by an adult male. The suspect is known to the victim’s family. During an interview at a specialized children’s interview center, the victim disclosed more than 10 incidents of significant sexual abuse that had occurred over the past three weeks at their home in Vacaville and another location outside the city of Vacaville.

While investigating this case, detectives discovered the suspect had sexually abused another child several years ago in Southern California. Detectives then notified the Southern California law enforcement agency having jurisdiction in that case so a separate investigation could be conducted related to that abuse.

Vacaville detectives obtained a $750,000 arrest warrant for the suspect for multiple counts of child sexual abuse, including two charges that hold a life sentence if convicted.  Detectives determined the suspect’s current location in Riverside County and coordinated with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to locate the suspect, who was eventually located there a few days later and taken into custody without incident.  The suspect is scheduled to be transported back to Solano County this week to face the abuse charges.

  • 288.7 b PC-Oral Copulation/Sexual Penetration with a child under 10 (two counts)
  • 288(a) PC- Lewd/Lascivious Acts with a child under 14 (two counts)
  • 288(b)(1) PC- Lewd Act on a child by use of force/fear/duress (two counts)

Due to the nature of this crime, and the fact that the suspect is known to the victims and their families, the name of the suspect is being withheld so as not to identify the victims and their families as well.
