Pittsburg: Man Assaulted, Robbed After Exiting BART Train

by ECT

On January 14 at 7:26 pm, a male victim was assaulted after exiting a BART train at the Pittsburg BART Station.

According to BART Police,  the male victim reported that while aboard a Pittsburg bound train approaching the station, a white male suspect told a black male suspect to batter the victim once the train arrived at the station. As soon as the train arrived there, the victim ran out of the station but was pursued and eventually battered by the black male suspect. During the attack, the victim dropped his black Droid CTE cell phone which the suspect quickly grabbed before fleeing on W. Leland Rd.

Officers responded, but were unable to locate either suspect nor were they able to track the phone.

An officer requested station video, and will canvass the nearby shopping center for potential video evidence; he will also attempt to narrow down the specific train the victim and suspects were aboard prior to the robbery.

The victim was not injured.
