No Explosives Found After Deer Valley High School Evacuated

by ECT

APD March 14

Deer Valley High School was evacuated today to a field at 1:45 pm after the threat of an explosive device.  Parents received a robocall from Principal Ken Gardner about 2 p.m., saying there was the threat of a device “in an undetermined location” on campus.

According to Paul Burgarino at the Times, students will not be released until the until the search has been completed and all clear has been sounded, according to the call.

During the search, police did not find anything and students were finally released after not being allowed to leave while the search was conducted.

At around 3:10 pm, there were reports of a fire near the school.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. After the horror in Boston there will be many stupid people who think these things are funny. Bomb threats to schools are not new by any means but still bad judgment. Thanks to the district, PD, fire department and everyone else involved to keep our kids safe.

I have to tell you we have the best students and staff. They responded and followed direction with no bother. Went quickly to the designated spots. Parents I respect the fact you waited patiently Thank you
