At 3:05 pm, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle fire along Highway 4 between San Marcos and Willow Pass Road on Tuesday.
Firefighters reported black smoke while responding.
While responding, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office was on scene reporting a full engulfed vehicle fire that was spreading to vegetation and creating a vegetation fire.
By 3:13 pm, a column of black smoke was showing from Highway 4 and Railroad according to Battalion 8. Truck 83 reported they were on scene just east of the Willow Pass offramp and was backing up to a previous burn area.
By 3:22 pm, firefighters reported the fire was out.
