by ECT

On Nov. 5th, 2017 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Brentwood Police Officers located an occupied stolen vehicle from Stockton, traveling east on Sand Creek Road near the HWY 4 bypass.

A traffic enforcement stop was initiated, but the driver of the Toyota Rav4 failed to yield and subsequently led officers on a pursuit.

Other BPD officers moved ahead of the pursuit path and deployed a spike strip, which resulted in the driver losing control and colliding into the traffic control island on Brentwood Boulevard near Sellers Avenue.

A male occupant ran from the vehicle and attempted to discard a large quantity of methamphetamine in the process, but was caught by officers and taken into custody a short distance away. The methamphetamine was recovered.

An adult female was contacted in the stolen vehicle and was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

The subjects, identified as Charles Webb and Annette Chavez from Stockton, were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on a number of charges.
