Brentwood Mayor Confirms He Is Running For Re-Election

by ECT

City of Brentwood Mayor Bob Taylor confirmed on Thursday that he is running for re-election this November.

Mayor Taylor made the statement after another publication last week suggested that he was not ready to announce if he will run again. He highlighted he was getting phone calls and that people were confused by it.

Taylor wished to set the record straight by saying it was not accurate and he is 100% running and was ready to continue to move Brentwood in a positive direction over the next four years if the public will allow him to continue. He further highlighted his commitment to the residents of Brentwood.

In 2012, Taylor won re-election over Councilmember Steve Barr earning 63% of the vote. In 2008, Taylor defeated Teresa Wooten after earning more than 70% of the vote. Fast forward to 2016, Taylor is endorsing Steve Barr for County Supervisor.

Taylor noted Thursday that he wanted to hold off on any formal announcement or plan in an effort to assist Steve Barr in his primary race this June and not become a distraction.

In November, there will be two open seats after city councilmembers Gene Claire and Erick Stonebarger announced they would not seek re-election.

Of course he wants to continue being mayor, he got a 65% pay raise. Councilman Steve Barr, who Bob Taylor is supporting for Supervisor helped vote for that to give him the raise. Ironically, Steve Barr is blasting the Board of Supervisors for its 33% pay raise. Seems illogical.

Barr is a good example of do as I say, not as I do. I am voting for Doug Hardcastle over Barr in the Supervisor Race and I hope Brentwood gets another mayoral candidate.

Suggest people go visit Doug Hardcastle at http://www.doughardcastle.com

@Factchecker
I went to the link you provided. Doug Hardcastle comes across as angry & confused. Historically he has provided no leadership so why would he now? Most people haven’t even heard of the dude.

He needs to lose the HardAss vibe he gives off and should consider closing his mouth for his photo ops…

….The Castle thing in his logo is even off putting!

Are you really sure you wanted to send us to his website? FWIW, It isn’t helping him!!!!

Oh please say it isn’t so! Bob Taylor makes Brentwood so podunk! We need a real mayor…not someone straight off the set of The Dukes of Hazard . Boss Hogg was a role model for Bob Taylor. The guy is a complete laughing stalk.

He has more than used up his 15 minutes of fame.

It’s time for some real leadership. Will someong…anyone step up and run against the dumbest guy in town?

Please please please.

Brentwood CAN do better.

I do not see anyone fighting to be Mayor. The Mayor is more of a PR job anyway. It Taylor has worked for the betterment of his city. In comparison to Oakley, Antioch, and CSD DiscoveryBay, Brentwood by far out performs the other cities and remains a save and comfortable place for its residents. You can’t say that about other east county places. He must be doing something right. I would rather be a hick town than a low life lawless one.
