At approximately 10:30 pm Monday, an Antioch Police officer observed a motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential area and onto Auto Center Drive. The officer did not give chase but observed the motorcyclist intentionally leave the roadway and drive along the railroad tracks near Auto Center Drive out of sight of the officer.
When the motorcyclist did not reappear officers began searching the railroad tracks on foot.
Moments later, the motorcycle and driver were found. The driver of the motorcycle suffered from serious injuries as a result of having crashed his motorcycle into a drainage ditch. He was transported to a local hospital and was said to be in critical condition.
The driver of the motorcycle is an adult male and Antioch resident. His identity is not being disclosed at this time.
