For some one with brains and a bit of energy there is plenty to do in this world. They just don’t want to do anything else. I see it in my neighborhood all the time. Let’s just grab a gun or hey let’s go fight someone for the fun of it. Give me a break! Stop making excuses for these kids and their lazy parents. They would rather smoke or fire a gun than do anything.

It doesn’t matter about where you live. Be it Walnut Creek…Black Diamond…Moraga etc. And it has nothing to do with section 8. I live in Antioch. Grew up and lived in the Temescal district of Oakland close to the California Hotel on the hill in Berkeley. Grew up could walk the streets at night with no issues. Man dang near leave your door unlocked all night. But one day things changed. People started coming into and moving in the area ( and I am not talkibg about ANY section 8 recipients) and police seem to be around everyday. We are talking about an area where the cheapest home was $750,000. People move into and go around areas that are virgin territory for them and bring the criminal mentality and acts with them. You can blame Section all you want. I remember when Beverly Hills was an exclusive area to live. They have more problems than the law can handle. And there would never be any section 8 recipients living there. Times are changing and will get worse. Keep living. Walnut Creek….Layfette…Moraga….Orinda will have their turn. Also remember when Concord…..was an exclusuve area. Like the song Donny Hathaway sang “Everything must change Nothing stays the same”. Until people’s mentalities chang for the better..you will have this mess. Take this from a ex-Law Enforcement Officer………

This shooting has nothing to do with people on section 8, my opinion. This is a repetitive, heartless crime that Antioch residences have been battling for years. I believe this crime has a lot to do with people on drugs & alcohol!

I don’t think it’s about Sec 8, usually comes back to a drug deal gone bad… not only street drugs.. pharmaceuticals as well. Also guns placed in the wrong hands is a major issue. Innocent people losing lives. Over a junkie wanting the next high or over a drug dealer gone broke maybe! SO so Sad no matter what. R.I.P.

@Jlove

You’re absolutely right. Section 8 bring up property values and makes neighborhoods better. That’s why Antioch homes are the most sought after homes over Orinda, Moraga,and San Ramon.

Orinda, Moraga ,and San Ramon are the ghetto compared to safe and affluent Antioch neighborhoods because there’s no way section 8 brings the crimes and problems you mentioned.

That’s why Beverly Hills and Malibu are super safe and expensive, Just be the section 8 that made these cities so nice.

Keep smoking your crack pipe, Crystal and Jlove.
