Vehicle Crash Knocks Out Power to 4,000 PG&E Customers in Antioch

At approximately 9:15 am Monday, Contra Costa County firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash in the area of Wild Horse Road and Ridgeline in the City of Antioch.

Upon arrival, Engine 88 firefighters reported a vehicle went through a power pole, a fence and into a field which started a small vegetation fire — however, they could handle with a single unit. PG&E was also requested as the pole became well involved.

Originally, the outage spread as far south as Lone Tree Way near Deer Valley.

Update
At 9:50 am, Engine 88 reported the fire was out and PG&E is on scene. They reported approximately 4,000 PG&E customers would be without power for several hours.

I’d like to get my hands around the asshole who caused this outage with his or her careless driving. Their name should be made public!
