At approximately 9:15 am Monday, Contra Costa County firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash in the area of Wild Horse Road and Ridgeline in the City of Antioch.
Upon arrival, Engine 88 firefighters reported a vehicle went through a power pole, a fence and into a field which started a small vegetation fire — however, they could handle with a single unit. PG&E was also requested as the pole became well involved.
Originally, the outage spread as far south as Lone Tree Way near Deer Valley.
At 9:50 am, Engine 88 reported the fire was out and PG&E is on scene. They reported approximately 4,000 PG&E customers would be without power for several hours.
