Update: Vallejo Police Say Kidnapping Attempt of 10-Year-Old Female Fabricated

Updated— The Vallejo Police Department has concluded the extensive investigation of the alleged kidnapping of a 10 year old child from the 1500 block of Lorenzo Drive. The incident was reported on May 15th 2015. Detectives were initially unable to substantiate any of the claims and ultimately concluded that the entire incident was fabricated by the child.

The child indicated that she made up the entire story after receiving a reprimand at school for misbehavior and did so out of fear of facing potential discipline from her parents.

Original Release: 

On May 15, 2015 at approximately 4:37 PM, Vallejo Police Officers were dispatched to Dan Mini School, located at 1530 Lorenzo Drive, to investigate a report of a missing 10 year old girl.

Vallejo Police Officers, as well as personnel from the Vallejo Unified School District, conducted a search of the campus and the area around the school. The 10 year old girl was ultimately located at a friends house a few miles from the school.

As officers made contact with the 10 year old female, she reported she had been taken from the area of the school by an unknown male. That individual grabbed her by the arm, pulled her into a car and had drove her away in his car.

A short time later, the male stopped at a house in the North part of Vallejo or American Canyon.

The 10 year old female was able to flee from the unknown male and make her way to her friends house. The female juvenile is uninjured, safe and with her family.

At this time, the unknown subject has not been located or identified.The female juvenile described the person as a black male adult, approximately 30-40 years old. The male is approximately, 6 feet tall and heavy set. The subject has short, curly black hair and has a gold nose ring. She described a red and green “Dragon” tattoo on the subjects left arm. The subject was wearing black and green eyeglasses.

The vehicle the subject was driving was described as a red, newer coupe.
