On December 17, 2016 at approximately 11:33 PM, the Vallejo Police Department responded to the report of a suspicious circumstance at a residence in the 100 block of Myrtlewood Court.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a deceased adult female inside of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel responded and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vallejo Police Detectives and Crime Scene personnel were called in to investigate and process the crime scene for evidence.
The female victim has been identified as Melissa Owens, 35 year old Vallejo resident.
During the course of the investigation, Ishmeal Zeno, 37 year old Vallejo resident, was identified as the responsible in the case.
On the morning of December 18, 2016, Ishmeal Zeno was taken into custody by members of the Antioch Police Department, without incident.
