I wanted to share this bit of fabulous information from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Brentwood. They shared a letter from solider in Afghanistan today who has received and enjoyed the fudge provided by the 2012 Fudge for the Troops campaign from the Blue Star Moms, Chapter 101 last month. It’s nice to see the results of a community coming together for our troops while helping a local business meet and exceed its goal!
Here is an email we received from one such soldier just today:
“I received a container of fudge from the chaplain’s office in Afghanistan. Thank you for the donation of fudge! They were delicious and I shared it with my Soldiers and it made their day. I really appreciate your support to the troops. Thank you again!

If you recall, back in June 2012, folks in East County helped the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Brentwood and Concord exceed in their 200 pound goal for the month of July during its Fudge For Troops Campaign with a total of 207 pounds of fudge to be donated to the Blue Star Moms.
“We are thrilled by the generosity and support of our community! Blue Star Moms will be ecstatic to receive yet another sweet donation from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Brentwood, CA & Concord, CA that will benefit so many soldiers and brighten up their holidays this year,” said Christine McKnight.
They were quick to thank their customers while labeling them as “the best” because they appreciate their efforts and supportive of what they were working to accomplish while supporting the troops around the world.
“206 Pounds of Fudge being donated for our third campaign is a wonderful achievement and we are proud to be supporting our Servicemen and Servicewomen in such sweet fashion,” explained Craig and Christine McKnight.
