Last week, Deer Valley High School in Antioch announced that three of their students were winners in the 2016 Attendance Awareness Poster Contest through the Contra Costa County Office of Education.
Posters will now be placed on campus and on buses around the county beginning in January.
- Jennifer Quintos (Grade 10) – Category: Overall Winner for East County (also highest score)
- Anna Stuart (Grade 12) – Category: Top High School for East County
- Drinnie Francisco (Grade 9) – Category: Runners Up (for Calendar)
Each top winner will receive a gift card and will have their poster displayed on the tail of one of the regional buses for one month next year.
The overall winners will be displayed on the buses in January, the top high school in February and the top middle school in March.
These posters, as well as those for the runners up will be included in a 2017 Attendance Awareness Calendar to be distributed to all middle and high schools in the county.
