On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at approximately 9:56 a.m. San Francisco Police officers responded to the MUNI Forest Hill Station regarding a report of a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and discovered the train left the station. Officers were informed that the train was headed to the Castro MUNI Station. Officers responded to Castro Station where they located two victims on a MUNI train. Officers rendered aid and summoned medical attention.
One victim, a 70-year-old male, was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Despite life saving measures by personnel from the San Francisco Fire Department, the second victim, a 27-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail are leading the investigation.
Through the course of the investigation SFPD officers were able to identify the suspect. The SFPD Homicide Detail investigators developed the probable cause to obtain search and arrest warrants for the homicide suspect.
On Thursday, June 23, 2022, at approximately 7:50 p.m. San Francisco Police officers and investigators served the search and arrest warrants on the 1000 block of Power Ave. in Pittsburg, CA. With the assistance of the Pittsburg Police Department, the SFPD Tactical Team and additional SFPD resources the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect identified as 26-year-old male, Javon Green, was transported to San Francisco where he was booked on the arrest warrant for the charges of homicide (187(a) PC), carrying a concealed firearm (25400(a)(2) PC), and using a firearm in the commission of a felony (12022.5(a) PC).
