Antioch, CA — Multi-time series champion Shawn Jones won the 25 lap Hunt Wingless Spec Sprint Main Event Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. This was the first visit for the popular series this year, and Jones led from the outset in the Barry Pries Motorsports owned entry.
Jones charged ahead of Jimmy Christian at the green flag and led through the first half of the race and multiple yellow flags. On the 12th lap, series point leader Jake Morgan settled into second with Shawn Arriaga third. The order remained the same throughout the second half of the race. Jones picked up the victory ahead of Morgan, Arriaga, Nick Larson and Josh Young.

Series point later Dan Brown Jr won the 20 lap Xtreme Limited Late Model Main Event. This was his third Antioch win. Brown led from the the start ahead of Josh Combs, but a Turn 4 pass gained Kieley Ricardo second on Lap 3. Ricardo surrendered second to Matt Micheli on Lap 7. Brown built a decent advantage over Micheli that he would take to the checkered flag. Ricardo settled for third ahead of Rod Oliver and Jason Ryan Jr.
Point leader Matt Land picked up the victory in the 20 lap BCRA Lightening Sprint Main Event. This was the first win of the season for the series point leader, and the race went without a yellow flag. Past champion Hunter Kinney was an early second, and Land led Kinney the entire distance for the victory. Brandon Leedy ended up third ahead of Dakota Albright and Nick Chivello.

Danny Wagner picked up the win in the 20 lap Delta Dwarf Car Main Event and clinched his third championship at Antioch. Mario Marques paced three laps before Ellie Russo went high in Turn 3 to grab first. A lap later, Wagner went outside Marques in Turn 2 to gain second. A low move in Turn 3 of the seventh lap put Wagner into the lead, and Russo finally surrendered second to championship hopeful Devan Kammeramann on lap 16.
However, Wagner built a decent lead and beat Kammeramann for the victory. Russo settled for third ahead of David Michael Rosa and Jace Badeker.
Point leader Jim Freethy won the 15 lap Super Stock Main Event. The eventful race saw Jim Robbins and Mike Gustafson tangle for a yellow flag on the opening lap, and Joey Ridgway spun in Turn 4 a lap later. Mike Gustafson was the only other driver running in third at that point, but he stalled on the back stretch for a Lap 11 yellow flag. The restart saw Bryant make a big move on Freethy in Turn 4 to gain the lead, but Freethy ended up bringing out a yellow flag a lap later. On the next restart, Freethy went hard in the low groove in Turn 2 and emerged with the lead. Freethy went on to win ahead of Bryant, Gustafson, Ridgeway and Jimmy Robbins.
Racing resumes next Saturday night with the Dean Cline Classic for the Pacific Coast General Engineering Hobby Stocks and the first Figure 8 in 20 years. Also competing will be the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sport Modifieds.
