Oakley resident Meghan Bell was niece enough to share a couple of photographs from the Special Kids Foundation’s Santa Day at Smith Family Farms. This special event invited special needs kids to have a visit with Santa and a free picture. Volunteers handed out framed photographs, pencils and holiday erasers to every child who posed with Santa.
According to Meghan, children could play in the hay tunnel and visit with farm animals while they waited for their picture to be printed. With the wet weather, there was also a nice outdoor fire pit to keep warm.
“For Derek (her son) it was the first time he was able to share in his own words with Santa and tell him what exactly what he wants….yes….we all cried,” said Bell.
