Residents Displaced After Kitchen Fire in Antioch Home

by ECT

Just before 12:45pm Friday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 2400 block of Sequoia Drive in Antioch.

According to CONFIRE, units on scene arrived to smoke coming from all sides of the home and observed a working kitchen fire.

Firefighters limited fire damage to the kitchen area, however, there was smoke damage throughout the home and displaced three adults and two dogs as the Red Cross was called to assist.

According to Melissa Montanor, a neighbor, she says an occupant of the home was cooking french fries when the stove caught fire and the residents evacuated the home.

No one was injured in the blaze and firefighters were on scene for 90-minutes.
