Pittsburg: W. Leland Road Closed Due to Fatal Collision Investigation

Just before 8:00 am, Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters and Pittsburg Police responded to a collision on W. Leland Road at Golf Course which has now shut down the roadway.

Police say the roadway is expected to be closed for the next several hours as police investigate.

According to witnesses, there was a report of a subject suffering major injuries against a chain link fence.

According to Captain Ron Raman, they are investigating a fatal collision where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian and the pedestrian is deceased.

The Pittsburg Police Department announced at 8:42 the roadway is closed on W. Leland Road between Golf Course and John Henry Johnson Park due to a collision investigation.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were dispatched to the call at 7:48 am.

I passed by this, this morning. It seemed the police were looking for the car, I didn’t see any vechicle in fence. Just saw police patroling area looking for someone or the car. I believe it was a hit and run. I did see a body with a white sheet over it. My prayers go out to the victim. So sad. Hope they find the person who did this!!!

It was a female God rest her sole. I know her and my heart goes out to her family!
