Pittsburg: Suspect Who Stabbed Man With Screwdriver Taken into Custody

The Pittsburg Police Department reported Thursday that officers responded to an assault at the Jack in the Box on Railroad Avenue in the City of Pittsburg.

According to police, upon arrival it was discovered the victim was sitting out front when the suspect, Richard McDowell, 31, walked up and attacked the victim, unprovoked. The suspect stabbed the victim with a screwdriver in the hand and back, causing a collapsed lung.

The suspect fled on foot towards Cardenas Market however responding officers located the suspect and he was taken into custody. Witnesses positively identified the suspect and the screwdriver was located. The victim was transported to a local hospital and and treated for his injuries.
