Pittsburg Residents Busted by Vacaville Police for Shoplifting

by ECT

The Vacaville Police Department reported that on Sunday a pair of Pittsburg residents were busted after shoplifting from a local store.

According to police, the take was a shopping cart full of Tide laundry products where they entered a waiting car and made off with the items without paying.

Due to an alert citizen taking down the license plate, police were able to track down the suspect on I-80 thanks to traffic cameras.

Police say the male driver and female passenger were hesitant to provide their identification stating they didn’t have a drivers license. Both complied with officers commands and were detained. The stolen items were located in the vehicle.

After initially providing a false name, the driver was identified as Marshall Lewis Jr. (27, Pittsburg) and found to have 3 outstanding warrants, all from different law enforcement agencies throughout the Bay Area. The warrants were associated with cases regarding larceny, grand theft, felony domestic violence, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Lewis Jr. was booked into the Solano County jail on his warrants and shoplifting and conspiracy charges. His female passenger, a juvenile, also from Pittsburg, was transported to Solano County Juvenile Hall on shoplifting and conspiracy counts, and gained another charge when she was caught bringing methamphetamine into the facility.
