On June 18 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Pittsburg City Hall, the Pittsburg Police Department will be hosting its 2016 Anonymous Gun Buyback Program for Contra Costa County residents.
Those who turn in firearms, can receive anywhere from $50 to $350 in the form of Target Gift Cards.
- $50 – for non-operable
- $100 – small caliber rifles
- $150 – shot guns
- $200 – handguns & Large caliber rifles
- $350 – assault weapons as classified by State Of California
Police say funds are limited and subject to availability.
They also are reserving the right to limit the amount of funds to an individual can receive regardless of the number of firearms surrendered. Proof of residency is also required such as a California ID, driver’s license, utility bill, etc.
Police will not be checking for warrants upon submission of a firearm and those participating are encouraged to transport firearms unloaded and in the trunk of your vehicle.

Good to see Pittsburg doing this and not Antioch. What a shame! Antioch leaders are a joke!! I never thought I say this but maybe look at what Pittsburg has done to fix their city and copy them ANTIOCH!!! Wade Harper the Obama of Antioch needs to resign early if he really gave a crap about the city, which I’m sure he doesn’t. He will unemployed soon! Thank GOD!
