On Sunday, just after 11:15 P.M., Pittsburg Police Officers responded to the area of Frontage Road and Crestview Drive regarding several shots being fired. Initially, officers could not locate any signs of a shooting taking place in the area. Just after 11:35 P.M., officers received a report a man had been shot and was located at the intersection of Castlewood Drive and Kirker Pass Road.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a man seated inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Officers quickly provided the man with aid until medical staff arrived. The man was later transported to an area hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

During the investigation, officers determined the shooting did not take place at the intersection of Castlewood Drive and Kicker Pass Road. Using the city’s Public Safety Surveillance System, officers were able to determine the shooting took place near the intersection of Thomas Way and Crestview Driver. Officers located several expended casings and damage to a nearby house at that location.

No other known subjects were injured as a result of this shooting.

Detectives have been assigned to the case and are working on leads and attempting to identify those involved. It appears the shooting is possibly related to a road rage incident that occurred 30 minutes prior to officers locating the victim. No additional information is available at this time.
