Pittsburg Police Say 1 Dead, 2 Others Wounded During Family Gathering

At 7:56 pm Tuesday, the Pittsburg Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on W Leland Road near Crestview Drive in the City of Pittsburg–units were also on scene at Carolyn Drive.

It was reported as two victims who were shot with both in critical and CPR was in progress. This stemmed from a welfare check of a male laying on the ground.

By 8:13 pm, it was reported that a gunshot victim had showed up at a local hospital which would have made the 4th victim.

As of 8:22 pm, Pittsburg Police reported they were still hearing gunshots in the area.

10:40 PM UPDATE Via Pittsburg Police:

Early this evening, shortly before 8:00 P.M., Pittsburg Police Officers responded to the 100 block of West Leland Road for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they located two male shooting victims at the residence. Officers began life-saving efforts on the two men until medical personnel arrived at the house. One of the men suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. The second man was transported by medical personnel to a local hospital for further treatment and is listed in critical condition. Officers were later informed that a third man had arrived at an area hospital, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

During the initial portions of the investigation, officers determined that several family members gathered at the house following the death of an elderly family member. During the event, several men started arguing. At some point, several shots were fired. One man at the house was placed under arrest by officers.

The Pittsburg Police Department Investigations Division and CSI personnel responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives are working to locate evidence and obtain detailed information from witnesses.
